If you think back to ye old pirate shanty, “15 men on a dead man’s chest” you’re close enough to the number of symbols. This game features 13 symbols of various values. 

As can be expected, the lowest values belong to the face card images. The game has Ace, King, Queen and Jack images which all share the same value.

The scatter symbol takes the form of a radiant maiden, resplendent in her beauty. She sports the word ‘Bonus’ as well.

The highest-valued image is a buccaneer with a golden glow. The other pirates boast an array of colours, ranging from red to green, and have less worth.

As you may expect, with such a diverse array of symbols, the values vary significantly. At the lowest end of the scale, the face cards offer 1x your wager for five images. Conversely, the luminous golden buccaneer is worth 10x your wager for five symbols.

Multipliers

If at any point in the game, you manage to unlock all the reels you’ll get a multiplier wheel. There are four different wheels with progressively higher multipliers.

As we’ve mentioned earlier, this slot boasts the PopWins™ feature. Whenever you get matching symbols, each of them will pop and multiply into two symbols. 

This function consistently increases the reel height until you’ve reached the maximum: six in the base game and nine in free spins. However, the reels only expand until you lose, then they return to the base of three reels.

Graphics & Sound

Yggdrasil has done a spectacular job of dressing up this slot in pirate clothing. The imagery is beautiful and well-designed, ship-shape, you might say. The PopWins™ concept adds to the theme, rather than detracting from it.

The soundtrack is very lively and adventurous, though we wouldn’t say it’s particularly pirate-like. It’s more reminiscent of superheroes but still contributes well to the slot.
