Mansion Group Exits UK

Mansion Group, the operator of Mansion Casino, Slots Heaven, and Casino.com, announces the end of operations for its three online casino brands in the UK. As a result, the sites of the online casinos now display a message stating they are no longer accepting deposits from British customers starting from 12 January 2023, while existing customers have until 12 April 2023 to withdraw their funds.

Regulators to Blame?

The closure of the online casino brands marks Mansion Group’s full exit from the UK, following the March 2022 closure of its MansionBet sportsbook brand. Back then the company said the move would allow it to concentrate solely on casino, but now it appears that plan has been well and truly scrapped.

“Mansion has enjoyed serving UK customers for almost 20 years, but we are all aware of the increasingly challenging regulatory conditions that have led to much narrower paths to profitability and ultimately, the decision that Mansion has taken,” a Mansion spokesperson says. “There are other markets such as Spain, where we are operating with MansionCasino.es, and Canada, where we are in the process of applying for a license for their flagship brand, Casino.com, in the soon-to-be-regulated Ontario market.”

Mansion is not the first company to butt heads with UK regulators in recent years – Betsson closed eight UK-facing brands in 2020, while Genesis Global shut down in 2022. In the meantime, the UKGC is tightening regulations on operators, and further restrictions are expected to kick in once the government publishes its latest gambling white paper later this year.
